Shady Grove Pharmacy began as a small independent pharmacy in Rockville, Maryland. Today, as the brick-and-mortar division of Blue Door Pharmacies LLC, we are a nationally licensed compounding and prescription fulfillment partner — still family-owned, still pharmacist-led, but built for modern care.
From local pharmacy to national R&D and compounding fulfillment partner.
When we acquired Shady Grove Pharmacy in 2010, it was a small community pharmacy with deep local roots. We respected that foundation, but we also saw an opportunity to build something more specialized, more capable, and more responsive.
Over time, Shady Grove Pharmacy evolved from a traditional neighborhood pharmacy into the patient-facing compounding pharmacy division of Blue Door Pharmacies, LLC.

2010
A new chapter
Sleepy Shady Grove Pharmacy is acquired by Blue Door Pharmacies LLC, a newly formed,
family owned business entity. A 2-person company with big ideas.
2013
New foundations
Establish community trust. Outreach. Customer service focus. Referrals and foundations for growth.
2017
Dilute atropine
Proprietary formation. Ophthalmology referrals and scaling. Investment in ISO-7 cleanroom and USP <797> infrastructure.

COVID
Zero layoffs. Community commitment with door-to-door courier service and shipping.
Compounding R&D innovation, including early PRIMYX variations.

Fulfillment partnerships
